This course focuses on the process of creating a digital avatar; from creating the base model to adding custom skin details, textures, makeup looks and hairstyles. Using Daz Studio to create the base model, Substance Painter to create custom skin texture maps, makeup variations and skin details and finally blender to add more variation to avatar features with morphs and learning how to create the final render in both Daz Studio and Blender.

  • Creating a custom avatar
  • Creating your custom realistic skin texture
  • Improving workflow by understanding export and import settings between softwares

The course is designed for absolute beginners to the Avatar creation workflow. It is also for others with intermediate level knowledge in the creation of digital identities.

I have spent a lot of time creating the sometimes complicated workflow of creating a digital identity. What it is that you should focus on first to achieve a realistic looking avatar.

Avatar Creation Course (Basic)

In this course we would be using mainly Daz Studio which is a free software students will have to buy assets from the Daz store.
Also we would be using blender and also substance painter for the texturing. Substance painter is a paid software, it would be advisable to opt for the free trial before going ahead to purchase a subscription for the software.
Student are advised should they require any sort of support during the course, to send an email to digicourses.jessicajamesstudo@gmail.com
No it is not compulsory, but it would be advisable to take part in the final project submission to get expert feedback.
